"SOPHISTICATION" ~ Thisbe Vos music review

"Sophistication" is the premier studio album by the sophisticated vocalist, songwriter and Producer Thisbe Vos.

Born 30 miles east of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Ms. Vos joined an English Swing Band at 17 and toured in over 30 cities in Europe and the USA. She's performed at the Hollywood Palladium, the Derby in L.A., the Supper Club in New York, and the Chevy Chase Ballroom in D.C. ~ It was that tour when she first began her songwriting career.

Definitely my kind of album and I recommend adding it to your music collection. SOPHISTICATION has that "classic popular jazz" sound that they just don't make much anymore. The kind of music you want played at a private and intimate dinner party. VOS mixes superb Gershwin songs, with Rodgers and Hammerstein II. and other tunes with her own original contributions ~ which frankly are pretty damn good!

Thisbe also produced the album and assembled a stellar cast of studio musicians with great history. Vos also credits upright bassist Henry Franklin for all of his extra help around the L.A.area. Mr. Franklin has played on over 200 albums over the years. Other seasoned musicians include Gary Matsumoto (piano), Donald Dean (drums), Nolan Shaheed (lead trumphet), George Harper (saxophone), Geoff Nudell (Clarinet), and Larry Flahive (also on piano). Buy the album and read the Liner Notes. You'll see what a fantastic musical journey this really is!

Ms. Vos has that elegantly sweet, soft and silky voice that you may want to enjoy at a fab supper club some grand night out. "SOPHISTICATION" by Thisbe Vos earns a seat at the VIP table in my book! This premier album radiates the romance of song many of us hanker for from the good ol' days. Oh? These are the good old days ! That's even better.
